NICU Nurses Are Medical Center Olympic Champions

Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurses went for the gold while completing Olympic-themed annual skills training organized and taught by the NICU Education Council. The games kicked off with the Star Spangled Banner and running with the Olympic torch. Skills related to pressure injury, chest tubes, endotracheal tube securement, induced hypothermia, amplitude integrated electroencephalography, code cart review and Epic were covered. Events included darts, mini-marshmallow pressure injury packing, a matching game, throwing ice cubes in a bucket, a potato race and scavenger hunt. The final event was a NICU evacuation equipment relay race. About 130 nurses participated in the training.
