Health Watch: Learn About Advanced Heart Failure

While there are more than six million Americans living with varying degrees of heart failure, about 600,000 have advanced heart failure. When heart failure advances, it means conventional therapies and symptom management strategies are no longer working. In this Health Watch video, Jeffrey Shih, MD, Heart and Vascular Center, talks about advanced heart failure causes, symptoms and treatments. “Any time patients have advanced heart failure – when the medications aren’t working for them – that’s the time to consider what we call advanced therapies,” Dr. Shih said.
