Wife Commends Care Following Husband’s Motorcycle Accident

WhatOurPatientsAreSayingLast summer in an email, the wife of trauma injury patient shared: “My husband was admitted with a trauma injury resulting from a collision with a car while riding his motorcycle. Not only was the care he received attentive and competent, but everywhere we went, my family encountered helpful, friendly people who went out of their way to direct us, comfort us and reassure us. The kindness was exceptional for any setting, and an unexpected surprise in a busy, large hospital. A special thanks to the wonderful people in the ICU. We were surrounded by nurses, aides and doctors who inspired confidence with their care. Most exceptionally, these were people who did their jobs with energy, urgency and enthusiasm. What struck me most was how much they loved their jobs.”

Do you play an instrument? Join Caring Talents: Healing Through Arts, an initiative at the Medical Center that makes our hospital environment a more healing and welcoming place for our patients and families through music. Caring Talents musicians volunteer to share the healing powers of a live musical performance. Concerts are held in the lobbies on the University, Memorial and Hahnemann campuses, in cafeterias, and at the bedside for our inpatients. Caring Talents welcomes performances from Medical Center and Medical School employees and students, as well as volunteers. To schedule a performance contact Ana Mechlin, email or call 774-441-6742.
