Be Included in Our Gift of Giving Gallery!

In our last issue, we asked Medical Center departments and teams to share their holiday acts of kindness with News & Views for inclusion in our special holiday editions. We also know that our generous and kind-hearted caregivers are busy spreading good cheer in many ways outside of the workplace. Are you and your family volunteering to serve food, deliver or wrap gifts, organize a toy drive or help the community in other ways this holiday season? Please share your “Gift of Giving” photos, stories and shout-outs to be included in the UMass Memorial Health Care Gift of Giving Gallery that will be shared on our social media channels. Use one of the following three options to send your submissions:

  • Text (774-312-0300) or email your name, photo and caption.
  • Post to your Instagram, Twitter or Facebook feed; tag or mention UMass Memorial Medical Center (@umassmemorialmedicalcenter) and include the hashtag #UMMHCgiftofgiving in your post.
  • Send your photo via Facebook Messenger or direct message on Instagram or Twitter.

Project Management Office Goes Social for ‘Cheers for 40K Ideas’

George Zina (left), Joerg Drewitz (top right) and Will Smith (bottom right) lead huddle discussions at the Project Management Office’s Idea Board.

The Information Services Project Management Office (PMO) Idea Board Huddle was featured as this week’s #cheersfor40kideas on UMass Memorial Health Care and Medical Center Instagram channels. The PMO team has implemented several elements into their Idea Huddle Structure including aligning ideas to True North categories, completing A3 ideas, highlighting newly added ideas and creating a  centralized repository for PMO and IS members called “Tips and Tricks.” To celebrate our Idea System and the 40k ideas implemented across our system, we will share photos that feature some of the caregivers, teams, idea boards and idea huddles that brought these 40k ideas to life. Want to see your idea system huddle featured? Email Lora Dumas at Lora.Dumas@umassmemorial.org.

#houndsonrounds: Meet our Caregiving Canines

Have you seen furry volunteers walking around our Medical Center? If so, you saw our pet therapy dogs in action! Pet visits brighten the day, soothe and provide comfort to patients and caregivers. Our Pet Visitor Program enlists certified pet therapy dogs and their trained handlers, to make short, bedside visits to patients who would like the company of a furry friend. Keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages to meet our current canines on call; look for #houndsonrounds.
