Medical Center patient Kimberly Kinney Callan of Worcester has end-stage liver disease and recently shared her story with the Telegram & Gazette. The mother of an eight-year-old daughter is in desperate need of a liver transplant and is actively searching for a donor. In the article, Adel Bozorgzadeh, MD, chief of the division of organ transplantation, notes that our Medical Center performs minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery to procure living donor livers, which decreases complication risk and shortens donor recovery time.
