Transplant Team Hosts 2018 Gift of Life Celebration

Last month, the division of solid organ transplantation hosted the 13th annual Gift of Life Celebration. For more than a decade, this event has honored a community that is forever bound together by the ultimate acts of generosity, given and received. The evening, led by Master of Ceremonies Isabel Zacharias, MD, featured opening remarks from Medical Center President Michael Gustafson, MD, and emotional stories of generosity and gratitude from transplant recipients, living donors and donor families. Closing remarks were presented by Adel Bozorgzadeh, MD, chief, division of solid organ transplantation. Watch a video from the event below.

Transplant Team Is “The First Choice for a Second Chance”

This week kicks off an online awareness campaign designed to highlight the breadth and depth of our Medical Center’s transplant program. Several videos have been developed, told from the perspective of the team as well as the patient. These videos provide an overview of the surgeons, specialists, nurses and coordinators, who work to provide a strong support system for the patient(s) and their families – before, during and beyond transplant. “For us, the only objective is to go as far as we can, and aggressively as we can to provide the best possible care,” Adel Bozorgzadeh, MD, chief, solid organ transplantation.
