Go Red Goes Big with Annual Fundraiser

The Go Red team raised more than $9,000 through its annual raffle basket fundraiser for the American Heart Association. Congratulations to the more than 50 winners announced last recently, and thank you to the Go Red team and those who supported educating our employees about women and heart disease. It’s not too late to educate yourself on the effects of heart disease and take a free heart health risk assessment on our website.

Contribute a Basket to Raise Funds for Go Red for Women

It’s not too early to start thinking about Go Red for Women, as Wear Red for Women Day is held nationally Friday, February 2. Last year, our system raised nearly $10,000, which included money from our popular basket raffle. Preparations have begun for this year’s raffle to be held at all of our hospitals March 2. Would you like to contribute a basket? Here are some ideas: scratch tickets, wine, chocolate, gardening, kid’s crafts, cleaning items, family movie night, all things red. The ideas are endless. Email gored@umassmemorial.org by Friday, January 19 with your contact name, unit/department, the number of baskets you want to make and the themes for each (if known). Stay tuned for information on how to get your Go Red apparel too
