Helping Memorial Campus Employees with Parking During Renovations

With parking renovations underway in the Employee Garage on our Memorial Campus, a new Parking Information webpage on OurNet is a great resource to find helpful tips including shuttle schedules, seniority parking waitlist and regular updates on renovation plans. Did you know that carpool parking is offered on both University and Memorial Campuses? Not only is it easier to get parking, it’s also green for our environment. Kudos to the nurses on Memorial Campus for their idea to have parking information available to employees on OurNet. To stay up to date on parking, check out the page on OurNet. For more information, contact the Parking Office at 508-334-6546.

Medical Center Goes Green with E-Car Charging Stations

A Prius gets charged in the First Road University Campus garage.

A Chevy Volt gets charged in the First Road University Campus garage.

In our continuous efforts to go green, our Medical Center has installed electronic vehicle (EV) chargers for electric or hybrid cars primarily for staff members available to use on a first-come, first-serve basis. The employee garage on the Memorial Campus has an EV station that will charge two cars, and the First Road garage on University Campus has six vehicle charges. Larry Williams, director of facilities, Memorial Campus, is enthusiastic about these additions. He said, “The use of electric charging stations for cars at UMass Memorial is an excellent opportunity for us to reduce our carbon footprint. We are making strides to become a lean, green and healing organization.”
